Albemarle Orthotics & Prosthetics is a privately owned practice that was established in 1994 to provide orthotic and prosthetic services to northeastern North Carolina with primary offices located in Elizabeth City, Washington, North Carolina and Suffolk, Virginia. Satellite offices have since been established with various clinics held in towns throughout northeastern North Carolina. We are the only ABC Accredited facility in the area and have, with the support of local physicians and health professionals, enjoyed many years of growth in providing our services to the increasing demands of an expanding health care environment.

With the challenge of these new demands and a new focus on responding to the changes in health care, Albemarle Orthotics and Prosthetics has rededicated itself to becoming a service oriented corporation committing its involvement to the clinical team approach of patient management. We implement a team approach, consisting of the physician, physical therapist (if applicable), orthotist or prosthetist, as well as the patient. This team approach, coupled with our being a privately owned practice, enables us to treat and assist the patient with what is best for the patient, not the corporation, enabling the patient to become rehabilitated and more independent much sooner.

The Albemarle Orthotics and Prosthetics team consists of W. Scott Truesdale, Greg Berry and Joe Miller as practitioners with others to join in the immediate future. Scott is a Shelby State University graduate and a Board Certified Prosthetist/Board Eligible Orthotist with over 17 years of clinical and facility management experience. His expertise is in the latest technology and state of the art care for the prosthetic patient. Greg Berry comes to us from Northwestern University with 5 years experience as a Certified Orthotist, Prosthetist and Pedorthist. He is based out of our Washington, North Carolina office but spends a great deal of time in the surrounding rural areas including our satellite office in Greenville. Our latest addition is Joe Miller coming to us from Cal State Dominguez Hills where he completed his baccalaureate degree with following prosthetic certification in 1992. Joe is keeping busy at our Suffolk, Virginia office and spends much of his time in the surrounding rural Virginia area. We also maintain several Certified Mastectomy Fitters and Registered Orthotic Fitters at each of our locations.
